There is no proper taxi rank at London Gatwick Airport and the 'London' word is a bit misleading as Gatwick is situated nearly 30 miles south of Westminster, Central London! Probably the quickest way of getting to Central London is by Gatwick Express- train service which costs about £20 and can get you from Gatwick to 'down town' in about 35 minutes.
However rapid this service is if there are 2 or more of you and the hotel you are goint to stay in is located further in town you will still need a taxi from Victoria Station and in a peak times is nor easy or quick to get one from the taxi rank outside London Victoria station. To those of you I would recommend to book a Gatwick Taxi Transfer in advance and transfer to your hotel directly from the airport in comfort and without unnecessary hassle.
